My education includes a BA in Special Education, a MA in Learning Disabilities, a MA in School Administration, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I consider the opportunity to lead ECA a blessing and a privilege.

Knapp, Melissa

Administrative Assistant

Bio
I graduated from Glassboro State College in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Home Economics and I am the Administrative Assistant at ECA. In 2008, I was hired by Dr. Alimenti as the Advancement Director at Notre Dame Regional School where my three children attended school. I valued a private education for my family and was an instrumental part of the opening of Edgarton Christian Academy so other families could benefit from a similar school experience. I have always believed “it takes a village” and consider it an honor to be part of the village that educates the children of ECA families.

Mark Twain once said, “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I have had the pleasure of coming to school and educating young children for 14 years. I look forward to many more passionate years of “not working” in Kindergarten at Edgarton Christian Academy.

Duffy, Jennifer

5th Grade Homeroom/ Advanced Math Teacher 5-8

Bio
I have been teaching Advanced Math for the fifth through eighth graders at ECA since 2015. I earned my BA in Education and English at the College of Saint Elizabeth in 2005 and later received an endorsement for Middle School Mathematics. Previously I taught middle school math and science as well as seventh grade reading and religion at the former Saint Mary Magdalen Regional School in Millville. I then taught Kindergarten for one year at the former Assumption School in Atco. My passion for mathematics grew in my first few years of teaching and am blessed to do work that I love every day. My role as an educator is not to supply the students with facts and algorithms, but to support them in their struggle to understand and apply abstract concepts while making math interesting, attainable and relevant. “When are we ever going to use this?” is a prevalent question in my class. While arithmetic is common in most of our everyday lives, fewer and fewer of us require higher forms of math. I am not just teaching my students math: I am teaching them to think, to solve problems and to appreciate the beauty of mathematics.

Merki, Rondalyn

As a minister’s family, we lived first in Pennsylvania, and now, for many years, in New Jersey. During our time in New Jersey, I have been involved in many aspects of education. It continues to be my goal to inspire children to be at their best in all that they do. I believe that, here at Edgarton, children are taught to strive for their best through the love of God.

Previous to teaching Spanish, I taught preschool for ten years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English. I pride myself in specializing in managing students and maximizing learning opportunities in a diverse classroom setting. One of my favorite quotes is by Iganio Estrada, “If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn”. I feel this quote sums up my philosophy as a teacher.

Roberts, Ron

Phys Ed Teacher PK-8

Bio

I have been the Physical Education teacher at ECA since 2022. I graduated from Richard
Stockton College of N.J. in 1997 with a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice and Seton Hall
University in 2004 with an M.A. degree in Human Resources Training and Development. I’ve been involved with youth and high school sports for over 30 years, serving as a coach, sports official or administrator with various organizations. One of the biggest benefits of physical education is the opportunity for children to learn teamwork and good sportsmanship. Strong relationships of different kinds are central to our lives and I hope that I can encourage students to build bonds and social skills during gym activities and games. I continually seek to help the students build skills safely, celebrate their successes, and help them learn from failure. It can help create confident and resilient kids who will someday become successful adults.

Sollenberger, Christina

I am a lifetime violinist and singer from a young age. As a violin performance major at Temple University’s Esther Boyer College of Music, I studied under Barbara Sonies, the Concertmaster of the Philadelphia Opera and Ballet Company Orchestra, and Helen Kwalwasser, head of the violin department. I have played in the Temple Symphony Orchestra and many chamber ensembles inside and outside of school. Since then, I have worked as a private teacher of both voice and violin. While in the employ of ECA since 2017 as a classroom aide in a number of different grades, I have volunteered time as a private voice coach for the spring musicals, “Seussical” and “Beauty and the Beast” and have directed a 1st and 2nd-grade choir. I am excited to continue my career at ECA growing the music curriculum as its new Music Teacher.

Glogau, Delores

My educational background includes a BA in Special Ed and Elementary Education, an MA as a Reading Specialist, a Certified Dyslexia Therapist (CRT), and a Wilson Fundations trained teacher. It is my belief that every child needs to be given the opportunity to develop to his or her fullest potential. I help them achieve this by teaching those with challenges to read. differentiate learning so that each student’s unique skills are emphasized and their
needs are strengthened.
I believe that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational
environment where they can grow. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere
where students can meet their full potential and become lifelong learners.
